Enhance the Value of Vietnamese Mushroom
In the early 21st century, in the city of Dalat, under the leadership of Dr. Truong Binh Nguyen, a specialist in mycology, a research group on mushroom resources was established. With a spirit of continuous learning and striving for improvement, Dr. Nguyen and his team set a new challenge in researching and addressing common difficulties in the mushroom production process, particularly issues related to disease contamination.
After many years of research, by 2020, Dr. Nguyen and his team had made significant progress. This success laid the foundation for the establishment of a new organization named 'Institute for Mycology Research and Application'. Here, we proudly inherit the achievements of the preceding research group while also expanding our scale in collaboration with experts in specialized automation equipment for mushroom production. Additionally, we have focused our research investments on the post-harvest process to optimize the circular production process.
Through relentless efforts, by 2023, the research projects of the Institute had officially been implemented and adopted by several local mushroom production units. This initiative has helped reduce labor intensity and promote the industrialization process of the mushroom sector in Vietnam. Moreover, the technology transfer has laid the groundwork for the establishment of new enterprises in the mushroom production industry.
